Madico Awarded Patent for Photovoltaic Bright White Backsheet Technology

Woburn, MA – August 26, 2009 – The Specialty Films Division of Madico Inc., one of the world’s leading manufacturers of advanced laminates designed to increase human safety, security and manage energy, today announced it was awarded US Patent No. 7,579,083, entitled Bright White Protective Laminates, by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patent covers the use of laminate backsheets for photovoltaic (PV) modules that incorporate, among other features, cost-effective thermoplastic EVA along with white pigment and/or fluorescent agents.
