Vacuum Depositing Inc., VDI, a fully owned subsidiary of Lintec Corporation and a leader in roll‐to‐roll deposition of evaporative, sputtered, and dielectric coatings on flexible substrates, announced today an expansion of its manufacturing capabilities under the leadership of new management.

Shawn R. Kitchell has been appointed as the new President of VDI, replacing founder David Bryant. Kitchell brings significant experience in the converting industry to the leadership of VDI. He also serves as the President of Madico, Inc., one of the worlds’ leading manufacturers of coating and laminating solutions and also a subsidiary of Lintec. “We are excited about the many positive changes at VDI with respect to people and capability, and we are very appreciative of the outstanding company that David Bryant created and developed over the years. We wish David the best in his future endeavors,” said VDI President Shawn Kitchell.

Ronald Jones has been selected as the new Vice President of Operations, to lead VDI’s operational and strategic direction into the future. Ron brings to the role over 20 years of progressively more challenging operations, R&D, and general management experience. His background spans several industries and includes both full‐site and multi‐site management responsibility.

VDI’s new manufacturing capabilities include metallic and barrier electron beam coatings up to 80” wide. This is in addition to the manufacturer’s current non‐reactive and reactive coating capabilities of a large array of metal and ceramic materials. These coatings can be produced from ¼” to 80” wide which allows VDI to accommodate almost any sputtering application. VDI also produces specialized and toll evaporated aluminum and HRI coatings from 25” to 96” wide with optical properties from .10 OD to 6.0 OD. These coatings include a wide range of uses from window films, barrier coatings, and refractive index coatings.
