Madico Operations Update: Effect of Japan Disaster
As all of you are no doubt aware, there was an earthquake near Japan that resulted in a devastating tsunami hitting the northern and eastern coastline of the island country. Our hearts and minds go out to all those affected. We have, as an organization, pledged our support for rescue and rebuilding.
As Madico has several production assets in the country, we would like to provide the following statement of conditions to our Clients and Partners.
The vitality of our production infrastructure is intact. We see only minor changes in our supply chain as our worldwide network of production capabilities adjusts to reality on the ground in the stricken country.
Though one of our Japanese plants, representing approximately 16% of our short term capacity, has been idled due to power outages, our multiple plant global operations in Japan and in the US is fully capable and will reschedule as necessary to meet demand.
Madico will continuously monitor the situation and adjust our Integrated Contingency Plan (ICP) to changing conditions. We will also provide you, our valuable clients and partners, with regular direct and indirect updates.
In summary, Madico is extremely pleased to report that our people are safe and accounted for.
There will be a short term shifting of production and shipping locations for your orders, but we anticipate no significant interruptions.
