Highlights from 25th EU Photovoltaic Solar Expo and Conference
Madico exhibited at Europe’s leading Photovoltaic solar expo this September held in Valencia Spain.
The conference was well attended by over 40,000 visitors. There were eight full exhibit halls that held over 900 exhibiting companies. Madico’s presence was well received, maintaining a busy flow of traffic throughout the four days with current and potential customers.
The highlight of the week for Madico was a technical presentation given by the Director of Core Technologies, Dave Avison and our Senior Scientist, Marina Temchenko. The presentation titled “Madico Backsheet Technology Versatility” was well attended. The audience was engaged and interested in the technical data that promoted our current and future products. The data specifically highlighted Protekt ® as the most versatile and highest performing backsheet on the market. The presentation began by answering the question – what makes a fluoropolymer based backsheet superior technology? The answer became obvious as it’s simply in the chemistry: the Carbon –Fluorine bond strength is 488 KJ/Mol* far surpassing alternate chemistries. The presentation dug into the impressive results by a 3rd party testing lab; First, showing impressive results on Protekt passing both vertical and horizontal burning and High Current Arc Ignition (HAI) testing. Other impressive results showed the maintenance of adhesion strength between EVA encapsulant and Protekt backsheet, after 1000+ hours of Damp Heat testing, and the minimal color change of our EVA after 1500 hours of UV exposure. Based on these impressive results it is clear why Protekt® has been used in over 6+ GW of modules worldwide making Madico the largest manufacturer of backsheet materials in the global market.
The presentation stirred up much interest and was noticeable by increased booth traffic.
