Hurricanes and tornadoes can do untold damage to your home. And the first step towards minimizing damage begins with protecting your windows. Madico SafetyShield Window Film is a clear, strong film engineered to bond with glass, creating a barrier that holds the window together in the worst of conditions. SafetyShield films help keep windows from shattering into hundreds of deadly fragments, while helping prevent further damage to your home caused by rushing wind, water and flying debris.
Unlike shutters or plywood, window film does not need to be installed each time a storm approaches. Window film provides passive protection twenty-four hours a day. Laboratory tests show that Madico’s LCL-800-XSR improves the performance of 1/4" plate glass by 28%, allowing it to withstand >200 MPH winds* (Tested at American Testing Laboratories of South Florida 4/03).
Madico offers a wide range of durable, long-lasting films, tested and proven in thousands of installations around the world, including the Smithsonian, the Louvre, New Scotland Yard and many other landmark structures. Trust our worldwide network of dealers and installers to help you determine which film is best for your building.

Offers more protection than 1/2" plywood
Madico’s 15 mil film shown at left, is capable of withstanding the impact of a 9 pound 2" x 4" traveling at a rate of 34 mph. That same 2" x 4" will penetrate a sheet of 1/2" exterior grade plywood.
Improves the strength of annealed glass by over 28%
LCL-800 Tested on residential picture window with 6mm annealed glass to withstand the equivalent of 208 mile per hour wind speeds.**
Graffiti-Free
Vandalism is more than just a nuisance and eyesore, it's also a huge financial drain to public and private budgets. The cost of repeatedly replacing windows and glass that has been scratched up or marked with spray-paint can end up being prohibitive, not to mention time consuming and disruptive.
Graffiti-Free is Madico's window coating for the commercial and retail marketplace. When vandals do strike, it won't be permanent. The window stays put, and just the film is replaced, at a fraction of the cost.
Safety glazing
Meets CPSC, Consumer Products Safety Council standards for safety glazing category II.
Meets ANSI, American National Standards Institute standards for Safety Glazing, unlimited rating.
SafetyShield’s 8 mil Safety Films are also available with solar control and UV blocking properties, guarding against not only wind storms but from sun damage as well.
